Prominent Filmmaker & Activist Ashfaque Khopekar Honored With ‘Best Bollywood Activist’ Award By The Governor Of Maharashtra, C.P. Radhakrishnan.

Pimpri-Chinchwad | Representative : Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment and National President of the Republican Party of India (Athawale), Shri Ramdas Athawale, visited the injured victims of the tragic accident at the PCMC Waste-to-Energy Project in Moshi, where a massive garbage mound collapsed onto the administrative building following heavy rainfall.

During his visit to Sainath Hospital, Shri Athawale interacted with doctors to obtain detailed updates on the condition of the injured and directed officials to ensure that all necessary medical facilities and treatment were provided without delay. He also met the injured victims and their families, offering words of encouragement and assuring them that the government stands firmly by their side during this difficult time.

Sanghamitra Tai Gaikwad, Maharashtra State Chief Secretary of the Republican Party of India (Athawale Group) and Producer of Sanghamitra Film Production, praised Shri Ramdas Athawale’s compassionate leadership and unwavering commitment to the people.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanghamitra Tai Gaikwad said:

आज के दौर में जहां धर्म को अक्सर राजनीतिक या जातिगत चश्मे से देखा जाता है, वहीं ओम प्रकाश गिरि  का दृष्टिकोण पूरी तरह से अलग और प्रेरणादायक है। वे सनातन धर्म को किसी संकीर्ण दायरे या जातिगत प्रभाव के तौर पर नहीं देखते, बल्कि उनके लिए धर्म का सीधा मतलब ‘मनुष्यता’ (मानवता) है। उनके करीबियों का कहना है कि ओम प्रकाश जी का मानना है कि जो धर्म इंसान को इंसान से अलग करे, वह सनातन हो ही नहीं सकता। उनके द्वारा बनवाए जा रहे मंदिरों के द्वार हर वर्ग, हर जाति और हर तबके के इंसान के लिए समान रूप से खुले रहेंगे। वे धर्म को लोक-कल्याण, सेवा और समाज को एक सूत्र में पिरोने वाले माध्यम के रूप में देखते हैं।

जड़ों से जुड़ने की अनूठी मिसाल

A series of prestigious civic ceremonies across New York State honoured His Eminence Prof. Sir Dr. Madhu Krishan—eminent scientist, humanitarian, educator, and global peace advocate—for his outstanding contributions to humanitarian service, scientific advancement, education, international cooperation, environmental sustainability, and global peace.

The official recognition commenced In a  significant recognition, The Hon. Gary R. McCarthy, Mayor of the City of Schenectady, presented an Official Proclamation acknowledging Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan’s remarkable contributions to peace-building, education, humanitarian service, environmental sustainability, disaster management, and the promotion of human rights.

The highlight of the visit came when Mayor Gary R. McCarthy officially proclaimed July 1, 2026, as “The Day of His Eminence Prof. Sir Dr. Madhu Krishan” in the City of Schenectady. The historic proclamation recognizes his extraordinary international achievements and enduring legacy in advancing global peace, scientific excellence, education, humanitarian values, and international friendship.

The proclamation was presented to Dr. Krishan in the Presence of dignitaries, including H.E. Dr. Philip Fields, Secretary of the New York State Assembly – Ways and Means Committee; H.E. Mr. John Mootooveren, Councilman of the City of Schenectady.

In the next  official recognitions commenced at the New York State Assembly, where Assemblyman H.E. Er. Angelo Santabarbara presented Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan with a Citation of Honour in recognition of his decades of international leadership in promoting peace, education, humanitarian development, environmental stewardship, and global collaboration etc. etc.

On the occasion, AUGP USA and UNUGP USA honoured Mayor Dr. Dorcey Applyrs with the Human Excellence Golden Award in recognition of her exemplary public leadership, civic service, and commitment to community development.

The seminar was convened by His Eminence Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan, eminent scientist, Chairman and Chief Rector/Chancellor of The United Nations University for Global Peace USA (UNUGP USA) and The American University USA (AUGP USA). He attended the event as the Chief Guest and addressed the gathering on the importance of global peace, quality education, humanitarian service, and international partnerships in achieving sustainable development.

The programme commenced with an invocation by His Grace Archbishop Dr. Joseph Alexander, Christocrat Governor of AUGP and UNUGP USA. In his welcome address, Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan emphasized that collaboration among governments, educational institutions, faith-based organizations, and civil society is essential for building a peaceful and sustainable future.

A special highlight of the event was the presentation of an Official Proclamation and Citation of Honour to Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan by Dr. Bindu Maria Thomas, recognizing his decades of humanitarian service and global contributions toward peace education, intercultural harmony, and sustainable development. The proclamation carried the official seals and signatures of distinguished New York dignitaries, including The Hon. Gary McCarthy, Mayor of the City of Schenectady; The Hon. Gary Hughes, Chairman of the Schenectady County Legislature; and The Hon. Angelo Santabarbara, Member of the New York State Assembly.

The seminar featured a series of keynote presentations focusing on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Carlos Garcia highlighted the significance of public-private partnerships and the role of faith-based organizations in advancing global development initiatives.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Lester Sandres Rápalo delivered an insightful address titled “From Theory to Practice: Advancing Sustainable Development Through Global Partnerships.” Drawing from over 25 years of leadership in higher education, he explained how strategic collaborations have secured more than US$40 million in grants, expanded educational opportunities, and promoted social mobility through sustainable partnerships.

Additional perspectives were shared by H.E. Madelyn Rodriguez, Hispanic Outreach Manager for The Fellowship, who spoke about fostering peace through Christian-Jewish partnerships, humanitarian initiatives, and the Flags of Fellowship programme. H.E. Ambassador Ps. Dr. Varghese George also contributed to the panel discussion on global cooperation and sustainable peace.

Recognition of Nation Builders and Peace Ambassadors

During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan honoured distinguished global leaders for their outstanding contributions to education, leadership, humanitarian service, and peacebuilding.

Among those recognised were:

– H.E. Ambassador Dr. Lester Sandres Rápalo, who received the Doctor of History (Honoris Causa) and the Human Excellence Golden Award.

– Dr. Irene Rebecca Delgado, Director of Career Advancement and Immigrant Success Liaison at the City University of New York, Bronx Community College, who was conferred the Doctor of Philosophy in Communication (Honoris Causa) together with the Human Excellence Golden Award.

– H.E. Duke William C. Needham Jr., Senior Governor of AUGP and UNUGP USA, who received the Human Excellence Golden Award and a Citation of Honour.

– H.E. Ambassador Dr. Carol Dwarka, honoured with the prestigious Best Nation Builder Leader Award 2026 for exemplary leadership and humanitarian service.

Special Commemoration of America’s 250th Independence Anniversary

As part of the celebrations marking 250 years of American Independence, a special commemorative programme was also held in New York on July 4, 2026, honouring Native American First Nation leaders and distinguished international dignitaries.

Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan presided over the event as Chief Guest. The gathering was attended by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bigg Up Healing Water, Chief/Prime Minister of the Iroquois Council Autochthon American Nation (ICAAN), along with several respected Native American leaders and representatives from North and South America.

On this occasion, AUGP USA and UNUGP USA presented prestigious Awards, Citations, and Certificates of Recognition to H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bigg Up Healing Water, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Adonis Ra’El, and other distinguished personalities for their exceptional contributions to peace, humanitarian service, leadership, and nation-building.

Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan, internationally recognised for promoting peace education, intercultural harmony, and humanitarian values across more than 80 countries, has received numerous international honours during his distinguished career.

Closing Ceremony

The seminar concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Carol Dwarka, followed by a benediction from Archbishop Dr. Joseph Alexander, who also introduced his latest publication, “Christocracy: Christ Kingdom Governance on Earth by True Followers,” highlighting the role of ethical and spiritual leadership in building peaceful societies.

Ambassador Sir Dr. Lakshman Madhurasinghe, joined the Governing Council representing more than 120 countries in congratulating all award recipients and newly honoured Peace Ambassadors.

Kolkata, July 7, 2026: With the change of power in West Bengal, the BJP’s graph is rising. With the formation of the new government, the influx of new members continues. In particular, speculation is rife about the joining of several MPs, leaders, and other activists after their disillusionment with the TMC. Meanwhile, political circles are abuzz with speculation about kuldip maity, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of VFS Capital. Sources suggest that Maiti may soon join the BJP. However, no official confirmation has yet been made by either the BJP or Kuldip Maity.

Sources claim that if this decision is made, his membership could be initiated in the presence of a senior BJP leader, possibly party president Nitin Nabin or Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Kuldip Maity is the MD and CEO of VFS Capital Ltd., a leading microfinance institution in eastern India.  He is known as an experienced social entrepreneur in the microfinance sector. Under his leadership, the company has established a strong presence in Eastern India and currently provides financial services to over four lakh women customers through approximately 280 branches in 14 states.

He is also a board member of Sa-Dhaan, assistant secretary of the Village Welfare Society, and a founding member of the West Bengal Micro Finance Institutions Association. Kuldip Maity holds two master’s degrees in business administration and a doctorate.
