THE BRAIN BEHIND INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE SAREE ( IM of the Saree )

Dr. Ashvini Persaud of New York, co-founder of pop-ups International Museum of The Saree (IM of The Saree) and Green Fashion, Art & Design Museum (Green FAD), was recently named one of the top 30 influential women of Indian heritage by Mid-day. In an Mid-day’s interview, Business Advisor Ashvini humbly highlighted the organizations’ efforts to empower, educate, and archive the legacy of sarees, related Indian apparels and the people who honor them. She also provided advice to women and entrepreneurs.

IM of The Saree showcases cultural, historic and vintage traditional and contemporary Indian attire beyond the saree, like salwar kameez, lehengas, sherwanis, dhotis and fashion accessories, engaging individuals and families through exhibits, video interviews and performance. Both pop-ups collaborate with volunteers to curate displays of private collections from families, diplomatic leaders, medical professionals, iconic organization leaders and artists, like Mother Teresa, musician & composer, Ustad Kamal Sabri , Pt. Anup Jalota, Bollywood star-Rahul Roy, Dilip Sen, Terry Gajraj, and Artiste Anjali.

IM of The Saree has exhibited at CUNY University, New York, alongside Japanese kimonos and dolls, heritage events at Gracie Mansion Conservancy, Global Tourism Exchanges, Time Square Diwali and prestigious events in Delhi and Dubai. With its growing collections, the organization seeks benefactors for permanent or multiple exhibition spaces. Volunteers, exhibit participants ( ex. Entertainers, designers), financial sponsors and donors are welcome to support and develop the volunteer-run initiatives, which also integrates issues like oneness, cancer awareness, poverty & giving, financial literacy & legacy, sustainability and wellness topics. Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Inaugurate the Summit

Mumbai. President of the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA), Shri Abhay Sinha, has been invited to attend the World Audiovisual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, organized by the Government of India. The prestigious summit will be held from May 1 to 4, 2025, at the Jio World Center in Mumbai, and will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, on May 1.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Shri Sanjay Jaju, has extended a formal invitation to Shri Abhay Sinha, mentioning in the letter that, “Your esteemed presence at this prestigious summit would be a matter of great fortune for us. We sincerely hope that you will join us at WAVES 2025 and contribute to making this summit a grand success.”

Selected dignitaries from across the country have been invited to the event, with Shri Abhay Sinha being one of the prominent names. Expressing his happiness on receiving the invitation, Shri Abhay Sinha said, “It will be a proud moment for IMPPA and all its members to represent at WAVES 2025. We look forward to apprising the Hon’ble Prime Minister of the challenges faced by producers.”

WAVES 2025 is expected to be a landmark platform bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and creative talents from across the globe to discuss key issues related to the audiovisual and entertainment sectors.

Acclaimed director Swaroop Sawant is back with a hard-hitting Marathi film titled “POSCO 307”, scheduled to release on May 16, 2025. The film tackles one of the most disturbing and urgent issues of our time—child sexual abuse and rape—and is poised to spark critical conversations in society.

Based on real events and inspired by the POCSO Act and IPC Section 307, POSCO 307 fearlessly dives into the dark realities faced by children, while delivering a strong message: there should be zero tolerance and no mercy for such inhumane culprits.

Swaroop Sawant, known for his socially driven cinema, aims to use this film as a powerful medium to awaken society’s conscience and support justice for the voiceless victims.
